The Story Behind Nomadist

Nomadist has been a long time coming. In a way, it was inevitable. We all knew we have “that project” we always wanted to do and that itch never went away until we actually started the work. The purpose was always there.

In the beginning, there was light. Mainly halogen, HID and LED, to be specific. Our background is in automotive lighting and off road accessories, but our passion lies at the intersection of automotive adventure, outdoors and technology.

Nomadist was born because we believed there is a gap in Automotive & Outdoor adventure that we know technology can solve. There is so much amazing content created and shared around by passionate people, but it’s not surfaced in an objective way because the incentive is always monetization. We believe that we can create a curated index of Automotive & Outdoor Adventure information that serves only one purpose: To educate, inform, and inspire the world to go out and explore by personalizing the content for each individual in an objective way.

The site will be completely free to use and we hope to eventually get feedback to improve it and even source content from the public. We’re strong believers in open-source, trustless, and permission-less ecosystems (like blockchain) and to be honest – we thought it would be a fun project if we used the same mentality to create an indexed, curated content portal for Vehicle Adventure and Overlanding space.

Mission. Vision. Purpose.

We know why, so we’re driving adventure forward.

We know how, so we’re building further.

We know when, so we’re doing it now.

Join us on the road ahead.

Our Vision for Nomadist:

Drive Adventure Forward. Nomadist will be the ultimate adventure lifestyle magazine, inspiring the world to overcome challenges and create positive impact through a life of exploration.

Our Mission for Nomadist:

We want to empower and engage people around the world to live a life of adventure. We do this by enabling the everyday person to discover the best blogs and information for automotive & outdoor adventure as it relates to tech, business, food, marketing, entrepreneurship, products, news, photography and more by curating, personalizing and aggregating content.

We provide a UI layer that allows the user to customize and craft their own experience that matches their needs and reading / viewing preferences.

Empower quality content in this space to be distributed and surfaced without censorship.

We want Nomadist to be the first Automotive Adventure Blog that was created by an everyday guy, for the everyday guy.

About eight years ago now, while sidelined from riding my motorcycle due to a fractured ankle, I decided I was going to get back out on the track and capture all of my brother’s races. I had no idea hobbling around on my crutches just taking pictures for fun would turn into what it has become today.”
