Front Runner Outfitters designs and manufactures the strongest, most durable vehicle-based adventure gear on the market.

It exists to promote environmentally responsible outdoor recreation. We strive to find a healthy balance between participating in our environment and protecting the environment.

Legend has it that Front Runner was conceived between a 1988 Land Cruiser 70 and a 1992 Mercedes G-Wagen in Botswana, while sitting around a campfire. Nearby was a majestic Baobab tree, whereupon elephant tracks crossed paths with those of the founders of Front Runner, who were on an expedition in Africa. After suffering through numerous equipment failures on their expeditions around the world, these friends decided to take their shared passion for vehicle-based adventures and develop new, smart gear that would withstand any terrain.

Today our products have a well-deserved reputation for quality, intelligent design, and durability. Our manufacturing facility just outside of Johannesburg features in-house laser cutting, bending, and powder coating. Our CAD-designed products are built by skilled craftsmen in our ISO 9001:2015 Certified factory.
