Yakima has a history of making bold moves in the name of new horizons. The company started as a small machine shop in its namesake city, Washington state. In 1979, Steve Cole and Don Banducci acquired the firm and transformed it into a market leader with innovative aerodynamic products for vehicles used at the Summer Olympics in 1984. Today we continue to lead the niche we helped establish so many decades ago—with the same enthusiasm for the widest skies and the open road.
