Taylor MillerRated 3 out of 5 February 27, 2024READ THE FAQ's!! Unfortunately, I didn't see them until I had already purchased the kit with my chosen spring rate and had it installed. I chose my spring rate based on this statement in the product overview: "OE ZR2 Rate is 695 lbs/in for Diesel Motor (Stock weight recommended rate 650 lbs/in)"
Since I have a diesel truck with hidden winch and an auxiliary battery I went with 700 lbs/in. Being that it’s only 5 lbs/in more than OE I thought I was good, but the ride is WAY too stiff. I am getting a ton of vibration above 65 mph and even on a gentle stop my truck kind of bounces slightly. Also, the truck squeaks and squawks at low speeds, it never made a sound before. While the kit was being installed the shop discovered a sleeve was missing from the kit. I was looking for contact info when I discovered this statement in the FAQ's:
What spring rate should I choose for my coilover conversion? "Diesel: 650 Stock weight truck, hidden bumper and/or winch, 700 Truck with full steel bumper and winch only!"
If only I had stumbled on that important piece of info. before my purchase/install!!!
I paid 1200 to have the kit installed. After realizing it was the wrong spring rate I waited until PEAK had a sale and ordered the 650 lbs/in springs for the kit for 200. So eventually when I have the money I will have the springs swapped and it will probably cost me over 1000. That is a very expensive mistake and a lot of wasted time. Hopefully the softer springs will remedy this situation but so far, I am unimpressed with the kit. It did provide me with about 1.75" of lift which maxed out my caster as anticipated, the truck still tracks decently.
PEAK provided great customer service and got the missing sleeve shipped out as quick as they could. I think the quality of the kit is good, hopefully my truck will ride good and stop squeaking and squawking after the softer springs are installed. I would definitely buy from PEAK again despite all this. Add a review Cancel replyReview now to get coupon!Your email address will not be published.
